Where it all started....

Alrighty, so if you have gotten to this point hopefully you have checked out the website here. And I am here to tell you where "Hygiene Dreams" and "With M.O.E" all started.

So, as you may or may not know, my name is Morgan. I am a believer, a dreamer and a human person, and if you know me, you know I am passionate about dental hygiene and life. Not only am I a dental hygienist, but I am also a mother which has led me to this beautiful life and experience, and a newlywedded wife. Yay.

Long story short, my mom taught me at a young age "you want to have a job where you can be there for your children" so as I was growing up, every job I thought about, I always thought to myself "can I be a mom and do this job" specifically the mom that I desire to me. (However, my younger brain didn't think that sophisticated into words. I just wanted to be there for my children one day). So that is how I chose my career of becoming a dental hygienist because I believed and felt I could be there for my future kiddos. And growing up I never met a hygienist who didn't like their job. Wow smart kiddo, LOL, thanks mom for the greatest insight.

I can go more into details about what kind of hygienist I wanted to be originally, and how I also wanted to be a teacher growing up, but I'll go into that in a different post.

So yeah, I became a dental hygienist. And the desire to educate came on pretty quickly. I first started with post here and there on social media, then I knew I wanted to have a page that represented more hygiene centered information, and of course I am sitting there like, well? What should I name my account and "hygiene dreams" came to me. It felt very fitting because becoming a hygienist was my dream and now my dream is to educate people about oral hygiene and oral health, so yup here we go "hygiene dreams" it is.

Well then, you know as I am educating patients, I'm a believer in speaking the truth and if I don't think something works or something does work, I am going to educate my patients, and I have learned sooooo much working over the last 7 years with patients about different techniques on how to help patient to their own individual needs. And I started saying "I only recommend what I see with my own eyes." Well as this journey continued for me, I wanted to start blogging (here we are, dreams come true yall, they really do), and I thought what am I going to name the blog, I want to keep the blog real and raw because that's how I like to live my life.... And that's when it hit me "With M.O.E"

And that gives me chills because "Moe" has always been my nickname growing up. I actually didn't even like the nickname growing up, but everyone called me "Moe", so it grew on me. And my mom always spelt it with an "E". Even when I went away to hygiene school, friends started calling me "Moe" and they didn't even know people back home called me that. So, I just knew it was a name that stuck with me wherever I went and whoever I met. However, I will tell you, I never introduced myself as "Moe", so it really is something that naturally comes with the territory of me, I guess. That little girl being called "Moe" is going with me on all these journeys. I bet she's happy, living and enjoying her life.

So yeah, "With Moe" truly felt fitting. It felt like this is my call and as much as yes, I want to educate patients, this isn't just about education and positivity and motivation, it's about having fun. It's about bringing light to hard conversations. It's about being able to explore freely and safely. And always remembering who your true self is. This is a place for me to create and to also educate. How liberating. It's also testimonial too, I'll share that in a different post (: hehe.
